| Abstract |
The effect of ion nitriding temperature on mechanical Properties for SCM 21 steel and SCM 4 steel has been investigated by different heat treatment. The experimental results showed that the highest value of impact strength was obtained in the case of ion nitriding at 550℃ and the maximum value of surface hardness was achieved by ion nitriding at 450℃. Wear resistance of SCM 4 steel was superior to SCM 21 steel and it was believed that increasing of wear resistance was due to the higher carbon content. |
